Original Third Reich Period Iron Cross 1st Class 1939 Maker Marked “26″ B.H Mayer of Pforzheim, Three Piece Construction with a magnetic iron core, marked “26″ on the pin, and comes with its original to the cross the later type square case with the rectangular push button,

This is one of the crosses discovered in 1999, Google Russian Horde Cross and read the story about the discovery of these crosses its fascinating, I have three other B.H Mayer Russian Horde Crosses in my collection, they were described as the following

Most were marked “26″, a very small number were not marked but were of the “26″ type, all were in square cases with rectangular button, a number of examples had paint bubbling under the core, all had some degree of lacquer loss from 1% to 25%
