This is one of the crosses discovered in 1999, Google Russian Horde Cross and read the story about the discovery of these crosses its fascinating, I have three other B.H Mayer Russian Horde Crosses in my collection, they were described as the following

Most were marked “26″, a very small number were not marked but were of the “26″ type, all were in square cases with rectangular button, a number of examples had paint bubbling under the core, all had some degree of lacquer loss from 1% to 25%

German Panzer Assault Badge in Silver Maker Marked A.S for Adolf Scholze Grunwald, mid war period and of typical zinc construction, so called semi-hollow pattern with the typical Adolf Scholze ball shape hinge hardware fixed to the badge with the crimping style feature, this type of badge is featured in the fantastic reference book ” The German Panzer Assault Badge of World War II by Philippe De Bock reference number 3.1.4 Adolf Scholze semi-hollow, the book states ” Especially the silver grades tend to develop small bubbles underneath the finish, which is a sign of the finish reacting with the base metal, these badges are far better quality than most other mid to late war third reich zinc production”

As can be seen with this badge the small bubbles are evident on the front and back of this badge, and is something the fakers can never reproduce, the badge has never been cleaned possibly only moderately worn, 100% genuine badge by a sought after maker and more scarce than the A.S intertwined in a triangle badge
